17 Mar Talking to Our Past Self: Talks at Santo Ángel School
Are you a former student of the school? Holy Angel and you want to share your journey with 4th year ESO students? Do not hesitate to contact 📧 Inma, Nacho and Laetitia, teachers at the Santo Ángel school, through the following form .
Arantza Sánchez Puig and Laura Martín Rubio, I went a few days ago to take part in this wonderful activity.
It was an incredible experience! Seeing the school's facilities again, which, although significantly changed, still retain their essence, and meeting almost all of the Santo Ángel teachers again 21 years later. By the way, they're still fantastic! Inma, Miguel Ángel, Juanma, Nekane, both Rosas, Jesús, Nacho, Javi, Pablo...
All of this reminded us, on the one hand, how "old" we're getting 😅, and on the other, how special it is to live each stage with intensity! Because, ladies and gentlemen...time flies by so fast ⌛. And if you don't believe us, just ask us, because the day before yesterday, so to speak, we were sitting at those same desks.
Although I know his life from beginning to end, I loved sharing the experience with him. Arantza and revisit certain stages of his career where he had to put in a lot of effort and courage to get ahead. And this is proof that during this period, great friendships will emerge that will always be with you.
I didn't have time to highlight everything I had in mind, so I want to share some thoughts, not only for the students of Santo Ángel School but for anyone who might find them useful. For me:
- It is essential to put passion, motivation and enthusiasm into everything you do.
- Making mistakes is not a problem; almost everything can be redirected, even one's profession.
- Life is unpredictable and eventually finds its own way. What you don't understand today is actually showing you the path ahead.
- Work shouldn't be seen solely as a means to earn money, but as something that brings joy, satisfaction, and allows you to contribute to the well-being and growth of both yourself and others.
- Finding a purpose, a passion that guides you, is very rewarding: a specific project, creating something, becoming a mother or father, starting a family, traveling constantly, caring for the environment, starting a business, developing spirituality, contributing to educating future generations, leading a healthy life, transforming society, fighting injustice, etc. etc. There are as many purposes as there are people, as it depends on the circumstances we have to live, our choices, and our values and interests. None has to be more valuable than another! It's simply your own.
- Being honest, having a noble spirit, being curious, and staying alert to opportunities will open many doors for you.
- Although time is short, it is never too late to pursue what you want.
- It's a matter of perspective and attitude. Life will always surprise us, for better and, unfortunately, for worse. Therefore, and without wanting to minimize all the processes of sadness or disappointment we will inevitably go through (we must feel them), what ultimately matters is the perspective we put on it and what we do with it.
And all of this applies at this and other stages of life.
I'll stop! I'm grateful to Santo Ángel School for this opportunity to share our experiences, as it reminds us of everything we've achieved and how fortunate we are (and I don't mean in monetary terms, but in terms of the richness of our lives!).
Thank you to all the teachers for contributing to our development, and good luck to all the students on their journey! 🙏
The best is always yet to come 😊🌻
